Huskisson Carnival
When: Wednesday 1 January 2020

The Huskisson “Husky” Carnival runs annually from 26th December until the end of January. So why not spend the first day of the year riding ‘The Hurricane’, ‘Sizzler’ and the ‘Dodgem Cars’?! There are also a few rides available especially for the little ones, so the whole family is guaranteed to have a great time! Gerringong Men’s Shed Annual Duck Derby
When: Friday 3 January 2020
Where: Berry Showground, Berry NSW
Admission: Free (but you can adopt a duck at $5 each)

The Gerringong Men’s Shed* will be holding its annual Duck Derby on the 3rd of January 2020 at the footbridge adjacent to the Crooked River, Gerroa. Expect lots of players and spectators cheering on their adopted rubber ducks ($5 per duck). The prize for the winning duck will be presented on the day. There will be a BBQ sausage sizzle and soft drinks available making it a perfect family day out.
All money raised will help the Gerringong Men’s Shed fund improvements to provide a place for men’s mental health and wellbeing in the local community.
*Gerringong Men’s Shed is a place of encouragement for all to take an interest in their own health and well-being. They encourage a friendly and pressure free environment. You can just go there and have a yarn and a cuppa if that is all you’re looking for.
Dreams – Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks Tribute Show
When: Friday 10 January 2020
Where: Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club
Admission: $20 + booking fee or $25 at the door

Illawarra Folk Festival
When: Thursday 16 January 2020 to Sunday 19 January 2020

The Illawarra Folk Festival was first held at Jamberoo almost 35 years ago and is now one of the biggest festivals in Australia. The festival – run entirely by volunteers – features 150 acts over 4 days. On top of music and performances, you can also enjoy folk school, workshops, spoken word events, craft stalls and tasty international cuisine.
The festival is set in the northern Illawarra escarpment at Bulli. The event is known and loved for the diversity of music performances and the intimate yet vibrant community atmosphere.
Kiama Show
When: Friday 24 January 2020 to Saturday 25 January 2020
Where: Bong Bong Street Kiama

One of our absolute favourite Kiama events is back in town! The Kiama Show is the longest running community event in the area, and this year we welcome the 172nd edition!
The Kiama Show is a true family event. Expect traditional agricultural events including cattle and horse riding displays. The kids will love whip cracking performances, the pet show, street theatre, the farmyard nursery and the carnival rides. There will be lots of food options available so bring your appetite! The show ends on Saturday night with an unforgettable fireworks display.
The show is held at the Kiama Showground in Bong Bong Street, alongside Surf Beach. Kiama Showground is a short walking distance from Nova Kiama, so why not make a weekend of it and book one of our Nova Kiama family rooms?
Cold Chisel – Blood Moon Tour 2020
When: Saturday 25 January 2020

As part of their ‘Blood Moon Tour 2020’, legendary Australian band Cold Chisel will playing in Wollongong on 25th January. It will be only the fifth national tour for the band since their Last Stand tour in 1983, and features 14 shows across the country. Specials guests include Paul Kelly, Hoodoo Gurus, Birds of Tokyo, Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Magic Dirt and more!
