Romantic Valentine’s Day Itinerary for Kiama, NSW
It can be a bit of a challenge to come up with romantic ideas for Valentine’s Day. So if you find yourself on the beautiful NSW South Coast and you’re looking for inspiration, then keep reading. We have come up with the perfect weekend itinerary in six simple steps to spoil your loved one and make them feel super special!
The NSW South Coast is the best area to spend V-day, and in particular Kiama. Why? Because Kiama has it all; lovely weather, accessibility to beautiful beaches, fun events, friendly locals and great food options!
We have combined a few of our favourite things to do (mainly involving food, food and more food) and put together our perfect Valentine’s Day weekend itinerary for Kiama NSW. Below you will see our recommendations step by step. Follow them and you will have a beautiful, relaxing and romantic weekend away!
Friday 14 February
Step 1: Accommodation –> Check in at Nova Kiama
Assuming you’re working on the Friday and clock off around 5pm, jump in the car / train and head to Kiama – we will have you checked in by 7pm. Yes, you will be staying with us :-).
Who are we? We are Nova Kiama, Kiama’s newest hotel. Our boutique accommodation with superb rooms and facilities will offer you an unforgettable Valentine’s Day experience. Step 2: Pre Dinner Drinks –> Cocktails at the Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel has a brand new cocktail menu (YUM) and is right next door to us (how convenient) so it would be rude not to drop in for a cheeky pre dinner drink… 😉

Step 3: Dinner time! → Restaurant of choice
Now it’s time to take a pick from the many lovely restaurant options Kiama has to offer. Because food is a matter of personal taste, here are two venue options that could tickle your fancy.
Little Blowhole Art Bar
One of the things we like about the Little Blowhole Art Bar is that the menu is made for sharing (how romantic :D) and the incredible ocean views! If the weather allows it, it’s a pleasant 30 min walk from Nova Kiama to the restaurant. On the way home (perhaps after a vino or two) you could treat yourself to a taxi home and call it a night.

El Corazon Cocina De Mexico
Probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of ‘romantic dinner’ but El Corazon Cocina De Mexico’s warm and inviting interior and atmosphere makes the dining experience rather romantic. The venue is located just off the beach, so after dinner you can go for a little beach walk to finish the night before heading back to the hotel (we’re 4 minutes down the road) and open that bottle of bubbly in the room! What a way to end your Kiama Valentine’s Day. 🙂

Sat 15 February
Step 4: Waking Up → Enjoy Nova Kiama facilities
Enjoy your lie in surrounded by fluffy sheets in a super comfy bed. Take a shower in your designer bathroom and/or perhaps take a dip in the private heated outdoor pool. Make the most of having super yummy coffee right at your doorstep by ordering your ‘go-to’ brew at our VW Kombi. Peckish? Grab a tasty snack to go with it! !
Step 5: Breakfast time! → Cafe of choice
We looooove breakfast! Even though it might not be the most romantic meal of the day, it is really nice to spend time with your loved one eating tasty food. And you’re in luck as there are so many delicious breakfast options in Kiama. To list a few; Diggies Kiama, The Hungry Monkey and Penny Whistlers are all within walking distance from the hotel!
Alternatively, make the most of the late check out and order our Nova Kiama ‘breakfast basket’ to your room! Our breakfast basket ($20) includes assorted toasts with condiments (butter, small jam jars, mini Nutella), individual fruit yoghurt, house made granola and mango + coconut bread.
Step 6: Explore the surroundings → shopping, beach walk, rock pools
Kiama has an abundance of unique boutique stores minutes from the hotel. This makes for a perfect opportunity to go for a stroll around town and check out a few shops. Not much into shopping? From our hotel it’s a short walk to the beach.
